Kevin ‘The Mo’Town Phenom’ Lee, a one-time interim UFC lightweight title challenger, has found his new fighting home.

According to a report this Wednesday afternoon from Ariel Helwani, the Michigan native has penned a multi-fight deal with the Khabib Nurmagomedov-led Eagle FC. At the time of publication, an opponent or date for Lee’s promotional debut have yet to be determined.

Kevin Lee has signed a multi-fight deal with Eagle FC, sources say,” Helwani tweeted. “Debut date and opponent still TBD (to be determined). EFC is the promotion founded by Khabib Nurmagomedov that is planning to hold as many 10 (sic) events in America in 2022.

Lee, a seven-year veteran of the UFC, was handed his release from the organization last month following an August unanimous decision defeat to short-notice replacement, Daniel Rodriguez at UFC Vegas 35.

The Michigan native is currently serving a six-month retroactive suspension issued by the Nevada State Athletic Commission after he returned a positive test substance for Adderral following his August return against Rodriguez, which had been prescribed to help treat his diagnosed ADHD.

The aforenoted former undisputed UFC lightweight champion, Khabib had hinted earlier this week that Lee was set to pen a multi-fight deal with Eagle FC, confirming the organization had held extensive talks with the Flint native.

1-4 in his last five fights, Lee, a one-time interim lightweight title chaser had suffered a guillotine loss to current lightweight kingpin, Charles Oliveira at UFC Fight Night Brasilia in March of last year, and had been sidelined ever since after suffering a pair of catastrophic ACL tears in both knees.

Lee’s most recent professional victory came in November 2019 at UFC 244 against Gregor Gillespie at Madison Square Garden – when he stopped the now-#10 ranked contender with a spectacular opening round head kick – handing him his first professional loss, and last to date.

In other notable UFC victories, the 29-year-old has defeated the likes of Edson Barboza, Michael Chiesa, Francisco Trinaldo, Magomed Mustafaev, Efrain Escudero, as well as the recently released, Michel Prazeres.
