CM Punk eyes UFC 225 Octagon return:

CM Punk is looking to make good on his second Octagon walk.
Former WWE Superstar CM Punk has his sights set firmly on a second crack st mixed-martial arts, once again under the Ultimate Fighting Championship banner, this time at UFC 225 in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois. Arguably the biggest professional wrestler in the world before his transition to MMA, Phil Brooks, known better by his performance name 'CM Punk', made his professional debut on the main card of UFC 203, losing in dominant fashion to young prospect Mickey Gall via first round rear-naked choke. Despite the obvious gulf in class between the pair, Punk earned a cool $500,000 for his appearance in Cleveland.

Recent rumblings have suggested that Punk may be in fact welcoming former boxing phenom Floyd Mayweather Jr. to the Octagon for his premier contest, but, it is believed these rumours are wide of the mark. The Duke Roufus trainee seems more likely to be paired with Mike Jackson, who is also coming off his first loss in his professional debut, again to Mickey Gall. The former WWE champion took to Twitter today to highlight his hope and expected time line of a return, posting under the username Coach, Punk responded to a tweet asking "so when are we going to see you cry again in the the Octagon again?" with the simple retort of "June nine, after I win and lock eyes with my beautiful wife, embrace my coaches and shout out my entire team." UFC 225 of course takes place on the 9th of June in the United Centre.
