Former UFC middleweight title challenger and perennial contender, Yoel 'Soldier of God' Romero's services are reportedly set to be passed up by both Bellator MMA and the PFL, however, potential suitors from the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship would be entertained, according to sources close to Ross Markey MMA.

Romero, who parted ways with the UFC last Friday had spent just shy of seven-years under the promotion's banner, in a period where he competed thirteen times, scoring a 9-4 record.

The 43-year-old Pinar del Rio native is reportedly set to resume his fighting career, with his manager, Malki Kawa confirming on Friday night how talks have already been held with numerous organizations regarding his fighting future.

One potential landing pad which has been suggested since's Romero's release is David Feldman's, Philidelphia-based outfit, BKFC. This afternoon, sources confirmed to Ross Markey MMA that Romero along with his management would be interested in fielding offers from the organization.

Romero, who clinched a silver medal at the 2004 Sydney Olympic Games in freestyle wrestling, last featured in the main event of UFC 248 in March, dropping a relatively forgettable unanimous decision defeat to incumbent middleweight pacesetter, Israel Adesanya.

A victor over four former world champions, Romero picked up a trio of highlight-reel knockouts of Lyoto Machida, Chris Weidman, and Luke Rockhold, to go along with a close split decision win over Ronaldo 'Jacare' Souza in December 2015 at UFC 194.

With three fights remaining on his UFC contract at the time of his release, Romero was booked as recently as UFC Vegas 7 in August, where undisclosed reasons ultimately forced his withdrawal from an outing against TUF 17 runner up, Uriah 'Prime Time' Hall.

A transition to the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship would see the Cuban follow in recent paths paved by former flyweight contender, Paige '12 Gauge' VanZant, and former UFC heavyweight champion and Bellator feature, Frank Mir who recently penned deals with the organization.
