Aldo V Edgar II: How it will go down
Former 10 year undefeated featherweight champ José Aldo battles Frankie 'The Answer' Edgar for a 2nd time at UFC 200 as the two men fight for the Interim Featherweight Championship, with the victor slated to fight Conor McGregor later on in the year to Unify the title. Aldo is coming off the quickest loss in UFC title history after he was knocked dead by Conor McGregor at UFC 194 last December. Edgar recorded a brutal knockout victory over former Interim title contender Chad 'Money' Mendes at the Ultimate Fighter finale to put himself in strong contention for a title shot. Since McGregor defeated the Brazilian hero, he has yet to defend his Featherweight crown, with an interest in Rafael Dos Anjos' Lightweight Championship halting his defence. This decision leaves the featherweight division in the background. In the McGregor fight, Aldo went out to basically punch a hole through 'The Notorious' and was countered by the Irish man and was knocked out in 13 seconds. Aldo full of emotion and looked shook and nervous for the first time in his career. A different Aldo will show up in my opinion as he won't have to battle the 'mental warfare' that McGregor used and really dismantled him mentally. Edgar's cardio and wrestling will be a big advantage in this fight and if he can maybe out point Aldo in the opening round or second round he could maybe sneak a decision victory. Aldo is widely known to improve the longer his fight lasts with evidence of this coming in his title defence against Chad Mendes in Brazil as he looked very dangerous in the final round. Another factor in this fight is Aldo's nasty leg kicks which he looks to utilise in every fight and really found a home for them against Urijah Faber in one of his title defences.
Aldo has one of the most important fights of his MMA career coming up and I let could be make or break for the Brazil native with tougher fights on the horizon such as Haiwan youngest Max Holloway who has improved massively since his decision loss against Conor McGregor
Aldo via split decision
