My opinion on Brock Lesnar's return to the UFC

The mixed martial arts world went into meltdown during UFC 199 when respected MMA journalist Ariel Helwani broke the news via Twitter that Brock Lesnar would be returning to the UFC, a post that ultimately caused controversy. Dana White wanted to break the news via the UFC 200 promo along with the announcement that Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz would be battling for a 2nd time but was angered when Helwani beat him to the punch. Lesnar holds a 5-3-0 record in the UFC with his last fight a loss to Dutch kick boxer Alistair Overeem at UFC 141. Mark Hunt is Lesnar's opponent in his returning bout with the New Zealander coming off an impressive walk away knockout victory over Lesnar's former foe Frank Mir. Lesnar, who is undoubtedly one of the biggest pay per view draws and stars in the organisations history was seen as one of the options to replace Conor McGregor on one of the biggest cards ever with former Welterweight champion Georges St.-Pierre seen as the other option to save the card. Lesnar is many people hot favourite to defeat Mark Hunt in the co main event but he must be careful to not underestimate Hunt's one punch knockout power. Controversy arose when it was announced that Lesnar would not be subject to the same testing as he is a returning athlete and must give USADA a minimum of 4 months notice if he wishes to renter active competition. This has sparked questions over the Lesnar that will show up on July 9th with many questioning Dana White's honesty when he told how exceptions cannot be made for fighters when questioned about the infamous McGregor situation.
