Rose Namajunas vs. Joanna Jedrzejczyk II targeted for UFC 223:

Deserved run back for Joanna jedrzejczyk.
After the brisk announcement of a Lightweight title clash between Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov, the UFC brass are targeting a double header of title fights at their UFC 223 card in Brooklyn, as current Women's Strawweight queen 'Thug' Rose Namajunas has been slated for her first title defense against the dominant former champ Joanna Jedrzejczyk.

At the incredible UFC 217 event, in the first of three title bouts, Namajunas pulled off one of the biggest upsets in MMA history, knocking out the Polish steamroller Jedrezejczyk in the opening round. Olsztyn favorite Jedrzejczyk was attempting a record tying 6th successful title defense before her stoppage defeat.

In the weeks and days approaching the meeting between Joanna and 'Thug' Rose, Joanna could be seen mocking Namajunas at various press conferences, with many putting the result down to Jedrzejczyk's underestimation of her opponents skills, but Rose is undeniably a talented striker, holding black belts in both Karate and Tae Kwon Do.

Arguably, if any former champion in the Ultimate Fighting Championship today warrants a rematch, it's Jedrzejzyk, but keep a close eye on both Jessica Andrade and Tecia Torres, with Andrade certainly benefiting from sharing the octagon with Joanna, while Torres has incredibly picked up a decision victory over the current division champion.
