Frans Mlambo Set To Feature In Combate Global Copa Combate One Night Tournament In December

Bellator MMA alum, Frans 'The Black Mamba' Mlambo is slated to feature in a one-night, eight-man Combate Global Copa Combate tournament on December 12. coming in Miami, Florida -- with the eventual victor netting a $100,000 prize. 

10-5 as a professional, Dublin-based finisher, Mlambo last competed under the banner of FEN: TOTALbet Fight Night -- scooping the organization's bantamweight title with an opening round guillotine submission victory against the highly-touted Danish standout, Jonas Magard in Warsaw, Poland.

Per a report from ESPN MMA reporter, Marc Raimondi, Mlambo is slated to feature as a competitor on December 12. alongside seven other competitors from seven separate countries. Mlambo enters the fray in the 'Sunshine State' alongside promotional champion, David Martinez from Mexico, the Spaniard, Kevin Cordero, Peruvian, Jose Zarauz, Chile's Cristian Barraza, Frenchman, Pierre Daguzan, Argentina's, Luciano Ramos, and the United States representative, Leo Muniz.

The renowned Mlambo enjoyed a spectacular, decorated IMMAF run as an amateur -- lodging nine wins before making his professional debut in 2015.

Mlambo has featured under the banners of the likes of the now-defunct, BAMMA, as well as the aforenoted, Bellator MMA, and Brave CF. The Straight Blast Gym mainstay has featured prominently as a teammate of former two-weight UFC champion, 'The Notorious' Conor McGregor as well during the Dubliner's rise to featherweight and lightweight gold with the North American-based organization. 

The 30-year-old bantamweight contender holds victories over the likes of Cory Tait, the above-mentioned, Magard, Nathan Greyson, Dansheel Moodley, Luke Ord, Darren O'Gorman, and took a unanimous decision victory over reigning Cage Warriors bantamweight best, Dominique Wooding back at Bellator 227 in September 2019.
