An undisclosed injury has reportedly forced two-time UFC welterweight title challenger, Jorge 'Gamebred' Masvidal to withdraw from a slated UFC 269 bout with arch-rival, the #3 ranked contender, Leon 'Rocky' Edwards next month on December 11.

Per an initial report tonight from Brett Okamoto from ESPN MMA, as per the UFC's Chief Business Officer, Hunter Campbell -- Masvidal has been forced to withdraw from the bout to an undisclosed injury setback.

"Jorge Masvidal (@GamebredFighter) vs. Leon Edwards (@Leon_edwardsmma) is off UFC 269 on Dec. 11, UFC's Chief Business Officer Hunter Campbell tells ESPN. Undisclosed injury for [Jorge] Masvidal. No word yet on whether it will be rebooked or UFC will move on."

At the time of publication, it is currently unknown if the promotion will attempt to rebook Masvidal and Edwards together in the future once the former recovers from injury -- or will attempt to keep Edwards on the Las Vegas, Nevada pay-per-view event against a new opponent.

For Floridian striker, Masvidal, the veteran has suffered championship challenge defeats in his last two consecutive outings -- both against current division kingpin, Kamaru Usman. The most recent of those losses came in the form of a thunderous one-punch knockout loss in the second round of their UFC 261 headliner back in April in Jacksonville, Florida.

For the streaking, Birmingham native and Team Renegade BJJ & MMA staple, Edwards, he managed to score his ninth victory in his last 10 straight walks back in June with a unanimous decision victory over common-foe, Nate Diaz in the first five round, non-headlining, non-title bout in the history of the organization at UFC 263 in June.
