Yoel Romero vs. Paulo Costa on deck for UFC 230 at MSG:

Yet another scintillating Middleweight match finds it's way onto the already stacked UFC 230 card at Madison Square Garden in 'The Big Apple', as two time title challenger Yoel Romero faces Brazilian striker and rankings climber Paulo "Borrachinha' Costa. Grappling sensation Jacaré Souza has already been confirmed to face David Branch at the event, and just yesterday, Luke Rockhold and Chris Weidman put pen to paper on a highly anticipated rerun of their UFC 194 title clash.

Cuban Olympian Yoel Romero was widely rumoured to move to a much more comfortable Light Heavyweight division after his second loss to Robert Whittaker, failing to make weight for the title rematch and suffering from health scares due to his botched attempt. Despite the weight cut fiasco, the 'Soldier Of God' went the distance with Whittaker and was hugely unfortunate to find himself on the wrong end of the scorecards at the end of the night. Two knockdowns in the second and fourth rounds had many in the MMA community justifying a majority draw in the main event of UFC 225.

An incredibly exciting prospect in a talent rich 185lbs division, youngster Paulo Costa exploded onto the scene back in early 2017, and has already claimed the #8 rank at Middleweight. The Belo Horizonte native recently survived some adversity against the hot and cold Uriah Hall to stop the Jamaican in the second round, adding to his eye catching wins over Johny Hendricks, Oluwale Bamgbose and Gareth McLellan.

Pinar del Río star Romero currently occupies the top spot at 185lbs but with three upper echelon Middleweight clashes scheduled for the November return to MSG, expect a major reshuffle amongst the division's top five.
