(Dave Mandel/Sherdog.com) The brash grappler is back this summer. |
Exciting Bantamweight prospect James 'The Strabanimal' Gallagher makes his return to action for the first time since his hometown submission over Steven Graham in February, as he features on the Bellator London card on June 22nd.
The Straight Blast Gym submission specialist bounced back from his premier professional loss against Ricky Bandejas at Bellator 204, submitting the aforementioned Graham in the opening round via rear-naked choke, as the 22 year-old moved to 8-1. As of yet, an opponent for the summer event has yet to be announced for Gallagher, but there are no shortage of potential suitors for the brash Strabane native. Bellator Newcastle big winner Cal 'Pacino' Ellenor could find himself in line for a clash with the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt, in what would certainly be a grappling standoff. Ellenor also scored a first round rear-naked choke victory after his first résumé blotch, stopping Nathan Greyson.
Bellator London takes place on June 22nd. with a main event clash between Middleweight champion and former UFC top contender Gegard Mousasi and undefeated grappling ace Rafael Lovato Jr. scheduled for the event, while the heavy hitting Paul 'Semtex' Daley also makes his return to the cage after a decision defeat to fan favourite Michael 'Venom' Page, but similarly to Gallagher, remains opponent-less for the time being.
