T.J. Dillashaw Flagged By USADA - NYSAC Issues One Year Suspension:

The talented T.J. finds himself in hot water.

T.J. Dillashaw has voluntarily relinquished his UFC Bantamweight championship this morning after the United States Anti-Doping Agency informed him of "an adverse finding in a test taken for my (his) last fight." The failed test stems from his January meeting with current Flyweight champion Henry Cejudo at UFC Fight Night Brooklyn, and the New York State Athletic Commission have subsequently handed the Bang Muay Thai trainee a one year retroactive suspension.

Dillashaw informed fans of the flagged test on Instagram, while a formal announcement is expected to be issued sometime later today. As of yet it is unclear whether or not USADA will issue further punishment for the former Team Alpha Male striker but his ban in New York will more than likely carry over to other states with each commission usually electing to follow suit with their counterparts.

Dillashaw made his unsuccessful debut at Flyweight at the turn of the year in a first round knockout defeat to Olympic gold medalist Henry Cejudo, and was campaigning for a rematch sometime later year with 'The Messenger' but this twist in the tale firmly puts the kibosh on any rerun. T.J.'s relinquishing of the 135lbs title which he reclaimed and defended against fierce foe Cody Garbrandt is now up for grabs it is believed, with a vacant title clash the most likely option going forward at the top tier of the stacked division.
