Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs. Michelle Waterson Official For UFC Tampa In October

Joanna Jedrzejczyk makes her return to 115 pounds this October.

A strawweight headliner between former champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk and surging contender Michelle Waterson has officially been announced for UFC Fight Night Tampa on October 12th. from the Amalie Arena.

In somewhat of a title eliminator, dominant former division best Jedrzejczyk returns to 115 pounds, after an unsuccessful clash with flyweight queen Valentina Shevchenko last December. Colorado native Waterson is in the midst of somewhat of a siege toward Jéssica Andrade recently, picking up three consecutive victories over Courtney Casey, Felice Herrig, and one-time championship chaser Karolina Kowalkiewicz.

Olsztyn native and American Top Team trainee Jedrzejcyk successfully defended her strawweight gold five times, before a shocking first-round knockout defeat against Rose Namajunas prevented the Pole tying former bantamweight best Ronda Rousey's championship record. Jedrzejczyk's most recent win came against tomorrow's UFC Montevideo feature, Tecia Torres, dominating over three rounds to score a unanimous decision coup.

UFC Fight Night Tampa takes place from the Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida on October 12th. with a second strawweight bout also booked. Undefeated grappling ace Mackenzie Dern snaps her lengthy hiatus against promotion debutante and fellow Jiu-Jitsu player Amanda Ribas, while former title challenger Tim Elliot meets the heavy-handed Deiveson Figueiredo in a flyweight matchup.
