A flyweight matchup between contender, Gillian 'The Savage' Robertson and recent Octagon debutante, Miranda 'Feat The' Maverick has been booked for UFC 258 on February 13th. from the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Claiming the Invicta FC Phoenix Series 2 flyweight tournament, Maverick defeated DeAnna Bennett in a rematch via a third-round rear-naked choke. After her win over Bennett, Maverick took home a unanimous decision win over UFC alum, Pearl Gonzalez at Invicta FC 39 in February of last year.
Hoping to return to the winner's enclosure, Niagra Falls native, Robertson most recently featured at UFC Vegas 17 on December 19th. -- dropping a unanimous decision defeat to Taila Santos over three-rounds.
Recently arriving in the UFC, former Invicta FC standout, Maverick made good on her transition at the first time of asking, scoring a first-round doctor's stoppage win over Liana Jojua at UFC 254 in October -- after the Georgian had suffered a brutal broken nose. Sources close to Ross Markey MMA confirmed the pairing of Robertson and Maverick following the latter's social media announcement, requesting anonymity in the process as the promotion are ye to announce the tie.
Robertson, 25, had won two on the trot prior to her unanimous judging loss to Santos -- with both wins coming last year. Featuring at UFC Vegas 3 in June, the Canadian managed a rear-naked choke victory over Cortney Casey, before a UFC Fight Island 6 judging win of her own over Poliana Botelho.
23-year-old upstart, Maverick improved her professional record to 8-2 with her doctor's stoppage triumph over Jojua.
