We've got a switcheroo at middleweight. Originally slated in different matchups, former Strikeforce middleweight champion, Ronaldo 'Jacare' Souza and streaking division upstart, Kevin 'The Trailblazer' Holland have now been paired together for UFC 256 on December 12th.

Originally set to headline UFC Vegas 16 next weekend against Jack 'The Joker' Hermansson, 28-year-old California native, Holland tested positive for COVID-19 - ruling him from proceedings.

Moving to UFC 256 the following week, Holland has also been replaced by Italian standout, Marvin Vettori, who now clashes with Swedish finisher, Hermansson on short-notice - having initially drawn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu ace, Souza on December 12th. News of the reworked matchup of Souza and Holland was announced on the UFC Vegas 15 broadcast.

Hoping to return to winning ways, veteran Brazilian middleweight mainstay, Souza has dropped a pair of decision losses to current light heavyweight best, Jan Blachowicz, and the above-mentioned, Hermansson. The 40-year-old's last win came at UFC 230 in a knockout win over former division best, Chris Weidman.

For Holland, the streaking 185-pound striker still has the opportunity to make promotional history with five calendar wins, following prior successes against Anthony Hernandez, Joaquin Buckley, Darren Stewart, and Charlie Ontiveros.
