SBG Charlestown striking ace, Dean 'The Sniper' Barry has penned a multi-fight deal with the UFC. In a memorable week for the Tallaght native, the 28-year-old also recently welcomed the birth of his son, Jayce along with his partner.

Barry, who holds a professional record of 3-1, plys his trade under renowned striking coach, Owen Roddy at the Charlestown Straight Blast Gym facility, most recently competed at UAE Warriors 13 in late September, rallying after some early grappling exchanges to stop Abdulla Al Bousheiri with a stunning, highlight-reel one-punch knockout win. Sources close to Ross Markey MMA confirmed Barry's signature to a multi-fight deal with the promotion, following an initial report from Severe MMA reporter, Andy Stevenson.

A three-year professional veteran, the kickboxing based Barry made his first outing under the Shamrock FC banner back in September 2017, scoring a first-round knockout win over Thomas Thatcher.

Dropping his first professional defeat, the 28-year-old featured at BAMMA 35 the following year, finding himself on the wrong side of a second-round rear-naked choked defeat to Anthony Taylor. Returning to winning-ways in June of last year, Barry featured under the Titan FC scrutiny - lodging another first-round knockout, this time finishing Corey Samuels.

Barry, who is represented by Brian Butler-Au at SuckerPunchEnt. links up with fellow Straight Blast Gym trainee, former two-weight world champion, 'The Notorious' Conor McGregor and recent signing, former Cage Warriors feature, Rhys 'Skeletor' McKee as the other Irish representatives on the promotion's books, following the summer retirement of 'Irish' Joe Duffy.
