What an incredible storyline we've got here. Both featuring just last night at UFC 255, retaining flyweight champion, Deiveson 'Deus Da Garra' Figueiredo, and number-one contender, Brandon 'The Assassin Baby' Moreno have both verbally agreed to meet at UFC 256 in just twenty-one days.

In a stunning turnaround, Para native, Figueiredo lodged his first successful title defence in the main event of last night's UFC Apex event, scoring a taught guillotine win over contender, Alex Perez just shy of two minutes into the opening round.

Headlining the event's preliminary portion of the card, streaking contender, Moreno knocked back fellow surger, Brandon Royval with a single second remaining in the opening-frame, laying down a flurry of ground-and-pound against the Marc Montoya trainee who had suffered a nasty dislocated shoulder. News of the stunning turnaround from Figueiredo and Moreno was first penned by Milenio reporter, Carlos Contreras Legaspi

Notching his fourth consecutive finish, Brazilian favourite, Figueiredo added Team Oyama mainstay, Perez to rear-naked choke and knockout wins over Joseph Benavidez, and a guillotine win over one-time title challenger, Tim Elliot.

Lodging his status as a number-one contender to the bantamweight throne, Moreno scored his fifth-consecutive victory and called for a title shot right after his finish of Royval, noting his frustration with the original booking of Figueiredo and former bantamweight champion, Cody 'No Love' Garbrandt, however, it seems Moreno has got his title challenge wish with a December 12th. date.
