Report: Julianna Pena vs. Sara McMann Booked For UFC Event on January 16th.

An interesting bantamweight matchup between The Ultimate Fighter 18 victor, Julianna 'The Venezuelan Vixen' Pena, and one-time title challenger, Sara McMann is slated to feature at a UFC Fight Night event on January 16th. - with a location and venue for the event yet to be determined by the promotion.

Hoping to rebound to the win column, Washington born grappler, Pena dropped a late guillotine defeat to kickboxing ace, former featherweight champion, Germaine 'The Iron Lady' de Randamie at UFC Fight Island 4 in October.

2004 Olympic freestyle wrestling silver medalist, McMann, returned to winning ways herself at UFC Fight Night Raleigh in January, with a unanimous decision triumph over Lina Lansberg over three-rounds. McMann confirmed the matchup on her official Instagram account.

Pena, an esteemed grappler dropped a surprising defeat to the above-mentioned, de Randamie, particularly due to the method of the finish. The consensus more lethal submission artist, Pena suffered her second Octagon defeat via submission, in the final frame guillotine loss.

Scoring TUF 18 spoils, the 31-year-old managed a late, buzzer-beating knockout win over Jessica Rakoczy back in November of 2013. 

Working her way to a bantamweight title-eliminator against now flyweight best, Valentina 'Bullet' Shevchenko, Pena went on a four-fight winning spree, besting Rakoczy, Milana Dudieva, Jessica Eye, and Cat Zingano. Prior to her loss to de Randamie, Pena had picked up a unanimous decision win over inaugural 125-pound best, Nicco Montano.

Since her UFC 170 armbar title challenge defeat to the then-undefeated 'Rowdy' Ronda Rousey, McMann has scored a 5-4 promotional record.

The renowned wrestler also holds a win over common-opposite, Eye, as well as victories over former Invicta FC bantamweight best, Lauren Murphy, Alexis Davis, Gina Mazany, Tonya Evinger, Shayna Baszler, and Sheila Gaff.

The UFC Fight Night event, which is currently without a location or venue, is set to be headlined by a massive featherweight matchup between former champion, Max 'Blessed' Holloway, and surging contender, Calvin Kattar.
