Report - Felicia Spencer vs. Danyelle Wolf Slated For UFC Event On May 22nd.

A featherweight matchup between recent title challenger, Felicia 'Feenom' Spencer and promotional newcomer, Danyelle Wolf has been booked for a UFC event on May 22nd. -- with a location or venue for the showcase yet to be determined by the promotion.

Former Invicta FC featherweight best, Spencer makes her Octagon return for the first time since her premier title challenge under the UFC's banner back in June at UFC 250 -- dropping a unanimous decision loss to two-weight world champion, Amanda Nunes.

Making her UFC debut following her transition from Dana White's Contender Series back in September last, Pennsylvania native, Wolf earned a UFC deal on the show via a unanimous decision win over Taneisha Tennant. The outing marked Wolf's first as a professional mixed martial artist, following an extensive professional boxing career. Quebec-born Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Taekwondo black belt, Spencer has impressed majorly so far in her four-fight Octagon run. Debuting with an eye-catching rear-naked choke victory over fellow former Invicta FC titleholder, Megan Anderson, who challenges the above mentioned, Nunes on March 6th. at UFC 259 -- Spencer scored her seventh professional victory on the trot. 

Dropping a gutsy, competitive unanimous decision loss to incumbent Bellator featherweight titleholder, the decorated, Cris Cyborg, Spencer then earned her shot at champion, Nunes via a ground-and-pound stoppage of Zarah Fairn dos Santos at UFC Fight Night Norfolk in February of last year. 

Wolf, 37, makes just her second professional appearance in mixed martial arts but brings with her an experienced background in the striking arts. From 2013 to 2015, Wolf scored gold in the US National Boxing Championships -- featuring in the Olympic trials for the cancelled 2020 summer games before being ultimately eliminated.

A lot has been made since the launch of the UFC's featherweight division, with calls regarding its future brought to the forefront time and time again. With contenders few and far between beyond the likes of the above mentioned, Anderson and Spencer, the victor on May 22nd. may earn a title shot of their own.
