Attempting to rebound to winning ways in his next Octagon walk, Ferguson met with Sao Paulo grappling sensation, Charles Oliveira back at UFC 256 in December, suffering a second straight defeat for the first time in his thirty-fight career in a dominant, three-round unanimous decision blemish.

For Diaz, his most recent Octagon outing came at UFC 244 in November of 2019 in the main event at a Madison Square Garden return. Battling with Jorge Masvidal for the symbolic BMF championship, Diaz suffered a one-sided beating before a third-round doctor's stoppage after he suffered a sizeable laceration on his cheek and right eyebrow.
To find Oxnard veteran, Ferguson's most recent Octagon win, you have to go back to UFC 238 in June of 2019, where he managed a second-round doctor's stoppage victory of his own over future Hall of Fame inductee, Donald Cerrone after an entertaining back-and-forth.
