The undisputed flyweight championship rematch between incumbent gold holder, Deiveson 'Deus da Garra' Figueiredo and Brandon 'The Assassin Baby' Moreno has been nailed down for an expected UFC 263 event on June 12th. -- with a location or venue for the showcase yet to be determined by the organization.

Initially targeting an April or May rematch between the two, UFC president Dana White seen those plans quashed recently with Figueiredo's manager, Wallid Ismail claiming his client wouldn't return till sometime in June.

Turning in a Fight of the Year contender in the main event of UFC 256 on just twenty-three days notice last December, Brazilian finisher, Figueiredo and Mexican standout, Moreno battled over five rounds to a majority draw -- with the promotion keen to book an immediate rematch between the two. Per an initial report from ESPN MMA reporter, Ariel Helwani this afternoon -- the re-run will land on June 12th.

Hoping to lodge his second title defence after December's retention, Para native, Figueiredo scored three wins prior to his draw with Moreno in December last year. Drawing multiple-time title challenger, Joseph Benavidez in a vacant title matchup at UFC Fight Night Norfolk in February, Figueiredo left himself ineligible to claim the throne after a botched weight cut.

Stopping the Texan with a second round knockout, a rematch of the two was set for 'Fight Island' in July -- with the Brazilain prevailing once more, this time in a brutal, one-sided first round rear-naked choke win after he dropped Benavidez on three separate occasions.

Headlining UFC 255 in November, Figueiredo clashed with Alex Perez in his first attempted title defence -- knocking back the Lemoore native with an eye-catching first round guillotine.

Moreno, a former LFA flyweight champion, returned to the UFC for a second stint back in September of 2019 -- battling to another draw, this time against Askar Askarov at UFC Fight Night Mexico City.

Embarking on a three-fight winning spree since then, Moreno dispatched Kai Kara-France, and Jussier Formiga, prior to a November knockout win over Brandon Royvel who had suffered a dislocated shoulder in the lead up to the finish.
