Following a cancelled matchup originally scheduled for UFC 258 earlier this month, the flyweight pairing between Gillian Robertson and Miranda Maverick has been booked once more -- this time for UFC 260 on March 27th. from the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.
A nine-fight Octagon veteran, Robertson, who plys her trade under renowned head coach, Daniel Donaldson and Din Thomas has amassed a 6-3 promotional record so far. Scoring a notable four submission wins from those six successes, Robertson has bested Emily Whitmire, Molly McCann, Veronica Macedo, Sarah Frota, Cortney Casey, and Poliana Botelho during her Octagon run. In her three defeats, the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt suffered losses against Mayra Bueno Silva, Maycee Barber, and the above mentioned, Santos.
Also a highly-proficient grappler, Maverick holds five submission wins of her own -- overcoming the likes of Victoria Leonardo, DeAnna Bennett, and UFC alum, Pearl Gonzalez in her five-year career so far.
Forced from her pairing with the former Invicta FC standout, Robertson withdraw from the clash on fight day -- citing an illness, with Maverick also pulled from the pay-per-view event -- subsequently shelving the matchup for the time being. According to a report this afternoon from Fighter Path reporter, Sergio Pineiro -- the pairing will now land on March 27th.
Attempting to return to winning-ways, Niagara Falls native, Robertson dropped a unanimous decision loss to Taila Santos at UFC Vegas 17 in December last -- snapping an eye-catching two-fight rise for the 25-year-old Canadian.
Landing the promotion at UFC 254 in October on 'Fight Island', Maverick announced herself to the masses in brutal fashion, forcing a first round doctor's stoppage against Liana Jojua -- opening a massive cut on the Georgian's nose. The victory marked her fourth consecutive professionally.
