Brian Ortega Set To Return At UFC Fight Night Busan Against Chan Sung Jung

A potential UFC featherweight championship title eliminator between former challenger Brian 'T-City' Ortega and 'The Korean Zombie' Chan Sung Jung is expected to headline the promotion's premier trip to Busan, South Korea this December. Ortega, who last competed against Max Holloway at UFC 231, is expected to make the walk for the first time in over a year since his fourth-round doctor's stoppage loss to 'Blessed', where he suffered his first professional defeat. Hometown hero Chan Sung Jung, on the other hand, enters the fight looking to earn a two-fight win streak since a final second knockout defeat to Yair Rodríguez after he stopped Brazilian Renato Moicano via strikes early in the opening round of their June clash.
Both men are supremely talented grapplers with fifteen separate submission victories between them. Jung famously holds the only ever 'twister' win in the organization, finishing Leonard Garcia in their 2011 rematch via the unorthodox submission. Los Angeles native Ortega has displayed a keen submission eye himself, quickly rising through the ranks of the featherweight division with finishes of Diego Brandao, Renato Moicano and maybe most impressively, a flying guillotine of Cub Swanson.
The pairing was widely rumored to take headlining status at last Saturday's UFC Fight Night Mexico City, with the promotion instead booking a main event tilt between the previously mentioned Yair Rodríguez and the experienced Jeremy Stephens.
UFC Fight Night Busan takes place from the Sajik Arena on December 21st. and marks the organization's second visit to South Korea since UFC Fight Night Seoul, which was headlined by now Bellator MMA lightweight Benson 'Smooth' Henderson and UFC 244 headliner Jorge 'Gamebred' Masvidal.
