Julia Budd vs. Cris Cyborg Finalized For January Title Clash

Former UFC featherweight best Cris Cyborg will challenge Julia Budd for the Bellator
MMA featherweight championship upon her promotional bow in January. The Brazilian, who recently linked up with Scott Coker once more, will make her organization bow on January 25th. in a title clash against Canada's Budd.

Cyborg, who has only twice been bested in her almost fifteen year career, ended her turbulent time with Dana White and the Ultimate Fighting Championship soon after her unanimous decision rebound victory against Felicia Spencer in July.

The 34-year-old is one of the most decorated forces in mixed-martial arts history, with title victories coming during stints with Invicta FC, Strikeforce and the UFC. In her only Octagon loss, Cyborg suffered a first round knockout at the hands of compatriot Amanda Nunes at the tail end of 2018.

Julia Budd on the other-hand, has so far decimated each of her four opponents during her Bellator MMA tenure, stopping Marloes Coenen to claim the inaugural gold, before three successful title defenses came against Arlene Blencowe, Tatiana Nogueira and Olga Rubin. The Roberts Creek native is a talented kickboxer, with her only two professional defeats coming to former and current UFC bantamweight champions, Ronda Rousey and Amanda Nunes.

According to reports, the featherweight title tilt is expected to headline the event which is targeted to take place at The Forum, in Inglewood, California on January 25th. the same venue in which Cyborg suffered her crushing defeat to the aforementioned Nunes.
