After months of lobbying and campaigning in order to entice UFC lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov to make one final Octagon walk despite his October retirement, promotional president, Dana White has confirmed that Nurmagomedov is "100% officially retired".

Following his successful title unification win over Justin Gaethje on 'Fight Island' last October at UFC 254, Dagestan sambo ace, Nurmagomedov called time on his professional career, detailing how he had made a prior promise to his mother that he would elect agaisnt making another mixed martial arts appearance following the sad passing of his father, Abdulmanap earlier that year.

Meeting with Nurmagomedov on numerous occasions in the months since, White was filmed discussing the potential numbers a rematch between Nurmagomedov and former two-weight champion, Conor McGregor would do, prior to the Dubliner's second round knockout defeat to common-foe, Dustin Poirier at UFC 257 in January.

Posting on his official Twitter account tonight, White claimed that Nurmagomedov was definitely hanging up his gloves, despite the president's attempts to encourage him to make a return to the Octagon in search of a 30-0 professional record.

"29-0 it is," White wrote. "He (Khabib Nurmagomedov) is 100% officially retired. It was incredible to watch you work @TeamKhabib thank you for EVERYTHING and enjoy whatever is next my friend."

Nurmagomedov calls time on a splendid undefeated professional career, spanning a whopping thirty-fights, scoring wins over the above mentioned, McGregor, Poirier, and Gaethje, as well as Al Iaquinta, Edson Barboza, Michael Johnson, Gleison Tibau, and Rafael dos Anjos to name a few.
