Report - Gordon Ryan Pens Deal With ONE Championship, Set To Compete In MMA And Submission Grappling

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu standout, Gordon Ryan has signed a deal to link up with Singapore-based promotion, ONE Championship, where he will compete in both professional mixed martial arts as well as submission grappling.

Ryan, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under the renowned John Danaher and ONE Championship featherweight, Garry Tonon at Danaher Death Squad in Manhattan, New York -- is a three-time ADCC World Championship gold medalist.

The 25-year-old, nicknamed 'The King', holds a 143-9-3 record in submission grappling, with another 'superfight' matchup against Vagner Rocha set for March 26th. coming in Austin, Texas at a Who's Number One event. ONE Championship CEO, Chatri Sityodtyong announced the signing of Ryan on his official Twitter account this afternoon.

To go along with his three ADCC World Championship gold medals, the New Jersey native has managed to strike gold on three separate occasions at the World No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu Championships, as well as a further two gold medals at Pan No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu Championships. Ryan also took championship honours on four separate occasions at the Eddie Bravo Invitational (EBI). 

Across his storied grappling career, Ryan has bested the likes of Mickey Gall, Keenan Cornelius, the above mentioned, Rocha, Dillon Danis, Roberto Abreu, Romulo Barral, Ralek Gracie, Josh Barnett, Victor Ribeiro, the above mentioned, Tonon, Marcus Almeida, Rousimar Palhares, Aleksei Oleinik, Bo Nickal, Gabriel Gonzaga, and Craig Jones to name a few.

Unbeaten since his 2018 loss to Vinny Magalhaes, Ryan has embarked on an incredible forty-five match winning streak. The brash grappler was also recently involved in an altercation with fellow grappling standout, Andre Galvao at a recent Who's Number One event in which he slapped Galvao backstage after the Brazilian made a middle-finger gesture toward him.
