Report - Jack Hermansson vs. Edmen Shahbazyan Slated For UFC 262 On May 15th.

An intriguing middleweight matchup between talented grappler, Jack Hermansson and promising contender, Edmen Shahbazyan has been booked for UFC 262 on May 15th. -- from the Toyota Centre in Houston, Texas.
Hoping to rebound to the winner's enclosure, former Cage Warriors middleweight champion, Hermansson most recently featured at UFC Vegas 16 in November, where he dropped a short-notice unanimous decision defeat to the Italian standout, Marvin Vettori.
Dana White's Contender Series alum, Shahbazyan suffered his first professional defeat at UFC Vegas 6 last August, dropping a third round knockout blemish to upcoming UFC Vegas 22 headliner, Derek Brunson in his first headlining matchup under the UFC's banner. News of the interesting tie was first reported by LA Times reporter, Manouk Akopyan.
Hermansson, a twelve-fight Octagon veteran, has amassed an 8-4 record since her UFC bow back in September of 2013 at UFC Fight Night Hamburg. A wicked Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu player, Hermansson, the proprietor of a particularly devastating guillotine, has managed to lodge two notable submissions over both Gerald Meerschaert and David Branch with his modified technique.
Also landing on Hermansson's win column as well as Branch and Meerschaert, you'll find former Strikeforce middleweight best, Jacare Souza, one-time interim title challenger, Kelvin Gastelum, former title chaser, Thales Leites, and former KSW middleweight titleholder, Scott Askham.
For Glendale native, Shahbazyan, currently managed by former undisputed bantamweight champion, Ronda Rousey, the 23-year-old upstart has been hotly-tipped to eventually score middleweight gold during his UFC stint.
Faltering against division mainstay, Brunson last summer, the owner of an eye-catching nine knockout wins from a total eleven victories, Shahbazyan has bested Brad Tavares, Jack Marshman, Charles Byrd, and Darren Stewart during his three-year UFC stint.
UFC 262 takes place on May 15th. from the Toyota Centre in Houston, Texas -- with vacant lightweight spoils up for grabs between the #3 ranked surging submission ace, Charles Oliveira, and former three-time Bellator lightweight best, the #4 rated, Michael Chandler.
