Report - Maycee Barber Remains On UFC 269 Card, Meets Short Notice Replacement Erin Blanchfield

Rising flyweight prospect, Maycee 'The Future' Barber is still slated to remain on the December 11. UFC 269 card despite the recent injury suffered by originally scheduled opponent, Montana De La Rosa -- with former Invicta FC standout, Erin 'Cold Blooded' Blanchfield stepping in on short notice to replace De La Rosa. 

Recently snapping a two-fight skid, the 9-2 prospect, Barber managed to take home a close, debated split decision win over Miranda Maverick back at UFC 32 in July -- preventing her third consecutive loss. 

For Blanchfield, the Invicta FC alum recently made her much-anticipated Octagon debut back at UFC Vegas 37 last month -- besting promotional alum, Sarah Alpar in a one-sided unanimous decision victory. The victory improved Blanchfield's professional record to 7-1. MMA Junkie reporter, Nolan King was first to report the reworked pairing of Barber and Blanchfield. 

An alum of LFA and a product of Dana White's Contender Series -- Colorado upstart, Barber dropped a unanimous decision loss to Alexa Grasso prior to her win over Maverick this summer. In her first professional loss, Barber featured at UFC 245 back in January of last year -- suffering a unanimous decision loss to huge underdog, veteran contender, Roxanne Modafferi. 

Beginning her UFC with a trio of impressive victories, Barber stopped Hannah Cifers, JJ Aldrich, and the prominent grappler, Gillian Robertson with strikes before the 23-year-old suffered her loss as well as a debilitating knee injury against Modafferi. 

A five-fight feature of the Shannon Knapp-led Invicta FC banner, the highly-touted Blanchfield's sole professional loss came against current UFC flyweight prospect, Tracy Cortez.

The 22-year-old Brazilian black belt has already notched notable career wins over Kay Hansen, as well another unanimous decision win over Brogan Walker-Sanchez and a high-kick and strikes stoppage over flyweight grappler Victoria Leonardo.

UFC 269 takes place on December 11. -- with a location or venue for the event yet to be determined by the organization. An undisputed lightweight title fight between reigning champion, Charles Oliveira and the #1 ranked former interim titleholder, Dustin Poirier is slated to take main event honors.

A bantamweight title fight between two-weight gold holder, Amanda Nunes and the #6 ranked, Julianna Pena has also been reworked for the promotion's final flagship event of the year, while a high-stakes, pivotal welterweight grudge match between Leon Edwards and Jorge Masvidal has also been booked for the event.
