A flyweight rematch with high-stakes has been booked for a UFC Fight Night event on January 15. -- with the #2 ranked contender, Katlyn Chookagian clashing with the #4 rated challenger, Jennifer Maia in a rematch of the pair's UFC 244 unanimous decision pairing back in November 2019. At the time of publication, the promotion has yet to confirm a venue or location for the pay-per-view event.

Back in November 2019, Chookagian managed to hand Maia a unanimous decision in a flyweight title-eliminator, with the latter tipping the divisional scales at 127.2lbs for the high-stakes bout.

Quakertown native, Chookagian is currently in the midst of an impressive two-fight undefeated run, most recently halting the run of Viviane Araujo at UFC 262 in May at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas in the form of a unanimous decision victory.

For Maia, the former Invicta FC flyweight champion rebounded to the winner's enclosure at UFC 264 in July, handing one-time title challenger, Jessica Eye a unanimous decision defeat. News of the bout was first reported by MMA Ideas on Instagram.

A one-time flyweight title challenger, Chookagian would go on to drop a one-sided third round ground strikes stoppage loss to Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 247 in February of last year, following her prior win over Maia.

In the time since, Chookagian has suffered another stoppage loss to former strawweight best, Jessica Andrade, but has nabbed wins over the trio of Antonina Shevchenko, Cynthia Calvillo, and the aforenoted, Araujo.

A seven-fight Octagon veteran, Maia challenged the above-mentioned, Shevchenko for flyweight gold back in November of last year at UFC 255, suffering an eventual one-sided unanimous decision loss over the course of their five round co-headliner.

Throughout her brief UFC run, Maia has bested the above noted, Eye, as well as former title challengers, Roxanne Modafferi, and Alexis Davis, and Joanne Calderwood on short-notice with an eye-catching armbar.
