Report - Movsar Evloev vs. Ilia Topuria Booked For UFC 270 On January 22.

An eye-catching featherweight matchup between rising division contenders, the #13 ranked Movsar Evloev, and the #15 rated, Ilia Topuria has been added to UFC 270 on January 22. from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

Undefeated former M-1 Global bantamweight champion, Evloev last featured at UFC 263 in June at the Gila River Arena, taking home a one-sided unanimous decision victory over Hakeem Dawodu. The win improved Evloev to 15-0 as a professional. 

German-born upstart, Topuria also boasts an undefeated 11-0 professional résumé, taking three Octagon victories since his October 2020 transition from Brave CF. Featuring at UFC 264 in July, Topuria stopped the tricky grappler, Ryan Hall with an impressive first round ground strikes knockout victory. News of the matchup was first reported by Red Fury MMA

A five-fight UFC alum, Evloev, who made his featherweight division return upon his move to the Dana White-led promotion back in April 2019, debuted with a unanimous decision victory over recent UFC Vegas 41 feature, Seung Woo Choi. 

Before his June unanimous judging win over Dawodu, Evloev managed to take a trio of other decision successes against Nik Lentz, Mike Grundy, and Enrique Barzola. From his 15 successful professional walks, Evloev has lodged four submission wins to go with a further three knockout stoppages. 

Topuria, an alum of both the aforenoted, Brave CF and a one-fight alum of the Graham Boylan-led, Cage Warriors banner, has managed to score two knockout victories from three Octagon walks, however, has latched onto seven other submission wins across his so far flawless professional run. 

Before his summer knockout over the returning, Hall, Topuria bested the duo of Damon Jackson and Youssef Zalal.

UFC 270 takes place on January 22. from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California with a heavyweight title unification bout between Francis Ngannou and interim titleholder, Ciryl Gane taking main event status. A flyweight title trilogy bout between reigning undisputed champion, Brandon Moreno and the former champion, Deiveson Figueiredo set to take co-headlining honors.
