Sean O'Malley Defends Jon Jones Amid Domestic Violence Charge: 'I Feel Bad For Him'

UFC bantamweight striker, 'Suga' Sean O'Malley has jumped to the defense of former undisputed two-time light heavyweight champion, Jon 'Bones' Jones amid the Rochester native's latest arrest, where he was charged with battery domestic violence against his longtime fiancée, as well as injuring or tampering with a police cruiser in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Jones was arrested by law enforcement officers from the Las Vegas Metro Police Department in the early hours of September 24. following his induction into the Fight Wing of the UFC Hall of Fame in Las Vegas, Nevada -- after a call from security at the Caesars Palace casino where Jones and his family were staying.
Upon his arrest, Jones was charged with battery domestic violence, as well as injuring or tampering a responding police cruiser -- allegedly headbutting the car's hood, resulting in a medium-sized dent as well as causing paint to chip.
"Speaking of looking good and steps ahead and just dominant, Jon Jones is 1-0 this year, that's f*cked up... it sucks," O'Malley said on his podcast. "I don't feel like I'm in a position to even judge. I don't know what's going on in his mind or I don't know what's going on in his life. Like obviously he shouldn't have done that."
"Obviously that's f*cked up, obviously he (Jon Jones) knows that," O'Malley explained. "Dude, when you're drunk, it's not your true self. You're f*cked drunk dude... like, dude, who knows what he's dealing with? Not okay, one-hundred percent. Should definitely get punished for it. O'Malley, who is currently scheduled to feature at UFC 269 in December, has won his last two fights consecutively -- most recently stopping promotional newcomer, Kris Moutinho at UFC 264 in July.
The Montana native is slated to make his third Octagon walk of this year before the annum's close, drawing the #15 ranked contender, Raulian Paiva in a pay-per-view slot on December 11.
For Jones, the Albuquerque resident is expected to appear in court later this month to face charges of misdemeanor battery domestic violence, as well as injuring or tampering with a vehicle, a felony.
