Report - Taka Mhandu Set For EFC 90 Return Against Nicholas Hwende On November 6.

Team KF Martial Arts staple, Taka 'The Cat' Mhandu has booked his second professional mixed martial arts bout following his successful debut back in September -- as he draws fellow 1-0 professional, Nicholas Hwende on November 6 at EFC 90 in South Africa.

Making his second walk under the EFC banner, Mhandu featured at the promotion's most recent event back on September 10 at EFC 89, taking home a split decision victory over Asiashu Tshitamba over the course of three rounds. Mhandu had impressed during his amateur career, notching a perfect 6-0 professional record, as well as featuring under the banners of the likes of Cage Warriors and Clan Wars. 

Mhandu, 23, plys his trade under the guidance of head coaches Chris Fields and Tom King at Team KF Martial Arts in Swords, Dublin, with former Cage Warriors champion and UFC alum, Cathal Pendred also featuring in the Zimbabwe native's corner for his professional debut opposite Tshitamaba. For Hwende, he made his professional debut at EFC 88 in August -- lodging an impressive second round knockout over Themba Mkhize, having taking four victories from five amateur outings. 

Speaking with the aforenoted, Severe MMA regarding his quickfire turnaround against Hwende, Mhandu spoke of his delight to score sure a fast return to competition.

"I am ecstatic to get the chance to get back in and compete," Mhandu said. "It's only been 3 weeks since my last fight and I felt great so why not go again so soon? I feel like I'm going to be a lot more familiar with the setup and surroundings which will just make me more calm and aware while I'm in the cage, that's always been (a) superpower in the craziness of it all, and I expect this will give me the opening for my first finish with EFC."
