Details of Mayweather V McGregor announced:

Will this be the biggest fight in combat sports history?

After the long awaited confirmation of a bout agreement, further details have been announced for the meeting of undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather and UFC Lightweight champion Conor McGregor.

Date: Saturday August 26th 2017

Venue: T-Mobile Arena, Paradise, Nevada

Weight: Light Middleweight (154lbs). Mayweather last competed against Andre Berto at Welterweight (147lbs). McGregor last competed against Eddie Alvarez at Lightweight (155lbs)

Limit: 12 rounds, 3 minutes per round.

Gloves: 10oz gloves.

Ruleset: Traditional boxing rules (Nevada State Athletic Comission).

Drug Testing: Both men will undergo drug testing carried out by USADA. (United State Anti-Doping Agency)

Building of the card: The undercard will consist of boxing bouts ONLY, with no UFC involvement in the matching making or production of the event.

PPV: Scheduled to be available on SHO PPV (Showtime). Rumoured to cost in the region of $99.99, similar to the price of Mayweather V Pacquaio.

Betting Line: At the time of writing, Conor McGregor is a +600 underdog, with Floyd Mayweather a -550 favourite.

Commentators: Former PRIDE FC and WWE commentator Mauro Ranallo with be joined by the
veteran Al Bernstein and former two-weight world champion Paulie Malignaggi who will serve as second colour-commentators.
