GDR stripped, 'Cyborg' and Megan Anderson meet for vacant 145lbs crown at UFC 214:

Cris 'Cyborg' (right) has finally got her title tilt.
Dutch striker Germaine de Randamie has been stripped of her Women's Featherweight title, less than 4 months after she controversially beat Holly Holm at UFC 208 for the inaugural title. 'The Iron Lady' announced after the dubious decision how she was planning on undergoing hand surgery for ligament damage sustained in her 2015 bout against Larissa Pacheco, and it seems the injury lay off and her reluctance to face Cris 'Cyborg' has forced the UFC brass to strip the Utrecht native of her crown.

It has since been confirmed that 'Cyborg' will meet current Invicta FC Featherweight champ Megan Anderson for the vacant crown in the co-main event of UFC 2014 in Anaheim, California. This matchup is arguably the most exciting one the matchmakers could put together at this current time, and with Anderson's exceptional striking skills, the Australian may cause the Brazilian a lot of trouble. 'Cyborg' hasn't been defeated since her professional debut in 2005, amassing a 17-1 record, winning her UFC debut against Leslie Smith, and subsequently dispatching Swede Lina Länsberg, in a total mismatch. A win for Justino would probably see her vie for the accolade of the greatest female mixed-martial artist in history, along with Polish queen Joanna Jędrzejczyk. With some of the best, most powerful and aggressive striking and swarms in recent memory, taught by reknowed Muay Thai expert Rafael Cordeiro, Curitiba's Justino is no joke on he feet, and is also a slick grappler, holding a brown belt in BJJ.

UFC 214 opponent Anderson, will finally get the chance to face Justino, after the Brazilian left the 145lbs title back in Invicta in search of UFC success, where the Interim championship was eventually picked up by Queensland's Anderson, as she dominated veteran Charmaine Tweet at the end of January this year. Megan's last defeat came by way of arm triangle to Cindy Dandois, but her ferocious fighting style and striking technique, has subsequently seen her overcome Amanda Bell and Peggy Morgan to name a few. Anderson is arguably the most exciting up and coming Featherweight in Women's MMA today, and if she can overcome the dominance of 'Cyborg' she will most certainly increase her stock dramatically.

The current Women's Featherweight divison in the UFC only contains 4 real fighters, de Randamie, Holly Holm, Justino and now Anderson, so over the next year or 6 months, the signing of some new blood from surrounding organisations, or the introduction of a Women's Featherweight Ultimate Fighter season would definitely improve the bleak numbers currently residing at 145lbs.
