Dana White: McGregor want's Khabib in Russia after Mayweather match:

'The Notorious' one is not wasting time!
UFC President Dana White has outlined Conor McGregor's direct plans after his August 26th boxing match against the undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr. after he revealed how 'The Notorious' star is eyeing a Lightweight title defence against the fellow unbeaten Sambo specialist Khabib Nurmagomedov in Russia. White confirmed after the Mayweather V McGregor announcement that the Crumlin native was intent on fighting twice in 2017, with rumours circulating that the promotion were eyeing the December 30th UFC 219 card for the MMA return of McGregor, but with the revelation that the Lightweight king is vying for a defence against Khabib in Russia, these plans may have to wait until early 2018.

McGregor is currently 8 weeks out from his biggest ever pay day, as he takes on former WBC Light Middleweight, Welterweight, Lightweight, Super Lightweight and Super Featherweight champion Floyd 'Money' Mayweather at the T-Mobile Arena in a boxing match, but it seems as if McGregor is already planning his route back into the octagon in an attempt to defend his 155lbs title. McGregor of course inflicted arguably the most damaging loss of Eddie Alvarez's career last November at UFC 205, stopping the Philly native in the second round after a beatdown in the opening five minutes.

Dagestan fan favourite Khabib 'The Eagle' Nurmagomedov is arguably the most dangerous Lightweight along with Tony Ferguson and Edson Barboza in this current age, but with recent weight cutting problems and failure to make his UFC 209 Interim Lightweight championship bout with 'El Cucuy', Khabib has seen calls for a move to Welterweight. Currently 24-0, Khabib last featured at UFC 205, dominating Michael Johnson for the majority of their three round battle, before he submitted the striker with a expertly applied Kimura. Despite his undeniable success, Nurmagomedov's only really notable wins have come against the aforementioned Johnson, Abel Trujillo, and Rafael Dos Anjos, be that a 2014 Dos Anjos, with many pointing to his almost "padded" record which seen him join the UFC at already 16-0.
