Vitor Belfort V Nate Marquardt: What will go down:

Regardless of result, Vitor is one of the sports most feared strikers.
When the iconic Vitor Belfort was originally paired against Nate 'The Great' Marquardt at UFC 212 in his home country Brazil, 'The Phenom' announced that the Middleweight bout would be his last in mixed-martial arts competition. But in another shocking twist to the Belfort saga, the 40 year-old Rio native explained on UFC Tonight, how he feels that he has a few more fights left in him, and is reportedly interested in facing Chuck Liddell once again, with 'The Iceman' said to be flirting with the idea of a octagon return. Regardless of Belfort's uncertain frame of mind, it has been confirmed that the former UFC Light Heavyweight champ has one more fight on his current deal.

One of the most iconic and legendary strikers to ever step foot octagon, Vitor Belfort has faced some of sports fellow pioneers in his time, including the aforementioned Liddell, Randy Couture, Alistair Overeem, Kasuzhi Sakuraba, compatriot Wanderlei Silva and of course has faced Dan Henderson on three separate occasions. Despite two knockout losses against Ronaldo Souza and Gegard Mousasi and a no contsest against Kelvin Gastelum tarnishing the legacy of Belfort recently, 'The Phenom' is unquestionably one of the most influential and most recognised stars in MMA past or present.

A former Strikeforce Welterweight king, Nate Marquardt is indeed no push over for Belfort in what still could be his final fight, but it is definitely the right matchup to make for both men at this stage in their seasoned careers. Welcoming back Tamdan McCrory recently, Marquardt displayed his ferocious striking ability, following a beautiful shot with a head kick finish over 'The Barn Cat. Last time though, Marquardt was convincingly dispatched by up and coming Middleweight Sam Alvey. Marquardt has faced some incredibly high level competitors in his time also, with wins over current Welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, the next in line for a title shot Demian Maia, former WSOF Welterweight divison king Rousimar Palhares, and even stepped into the octagon with the G.O.A.T. Anderson Silva, in a decision loss.

Both men are definite knockout artists, with Belfort's legendary swarm and hands evidence enough, but a withered chin may leave Marquardt the surprise favourite heading into this exchange.

Nate Marquardt via knockout.
