Colby Covington's wrestling dominants the 'Stun Gun':

Colby Covington calls for Welterweight title shot next.
Another Welterweight matchup finds it's way onto the main card of UFC Fight Night Singapore, as promotion veteran Dong Hyun Kim takes on wrestling sensation Colby 'Chaos' Covington. Kim is a massive Welterweight compared to Colby so he must utilise his Judo background against Covington to avoid the takedown, as the striking exchanges presents a real advantage for the 'Stun Gun'.

Referee Steve Perceval got us started for this one, with a slip early for Covington with a failed high kick, before his wrestling background almost immediately presented itself. Kim was threatening his patented Judo throw. Another takedown landed for 'Chaos' as Kim rose back to his feet, it what was so far, a dominant round for the Florida native. A spinning elbow missed for Colby, as Kim began pushing the pace, only to end up on his back once more. Clear round for Covington.

The second round seen Kim again walking Colby down, with the American landing shots when in distance. A semi-successful sprawl from Kim allowed Covington to turn the corner and complete the takedown from the fence. Brilliant knowledge on display so far from the Florida youngster. Kim broke from the clinch and ate a big overhand left from Colby, sending the South Korean back toward the fence. Great balance from Colby prevented a perfect throw from the Judoka Lim, as the American  looked far more experienced than he is. Another round for 'Chaos'.

The third and final round with more pressure from the 'Stun Gun' who was being picked apart by the American, who then drove through with a knee tap to secure yet another takedown. Kim landed own takedown, with just under a minute left in the fight, but Covington rose to his feet with ease. Really dominant display from Colby who walks away with a unanimous decision win.
