Anderson Silva ultimatum: Romero title fight at UFC 212 or I retire:

Shocking turn of events in Anderson Silva's UFC 212 saga.
After his bout with uprising Middleweight prospect Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 212 fellout due to a failed drug test from the young wrestler, Anderson 'The Spider' Silva was left opponentless and subsequently during the event's press conference squared off against himself. Speaking on Ariel Helwani's acclaimed podcast yesterday, 'The MMA Hour', the former Middleweight king issued the Ultimate Fighting Championship a staggering ultimatum. Silva explained how the only fight preventing him from retiring would be an Interim title challenge against Yoel 'Soldier Of God' Romero.

The Cuban wrestling sensation is on a phenomenal tear as of late, stopping Chris Weidman with a devastating flying knee at UFC 205, to remain unbeaten in the promotion. Romero presents arguably the most dangerous obstacle to Anderson's title push, as he is more than capable of rag dolling the veteran Brazilian, and more worryingly stopping 'The Spider' with another nasty knockout. It remains to be seen if the #1 ranked Romero has been offered the bout with Silva, but one man who has been sent and signed a fight contract, is fellow former champ Luke Rockhold, despite the claims of Silva.

Rockhold hasn't featured in the UFC octagon since his first round KO loss against Michael Bisping, and an injury to the striker ruled him from a late 2016 bout with 'Jacaré' Souza. In my opinion, it remains hugely unlikely that Anderson will hang em' up if the Romero fight doesn't materialise, especially after his controversial decision win over Derek Brunson at UFC 208.
