Jimi Manuwa meets Swiss striker Volkan Oezdemir at UFC 214:

Volkan Oezdemir granted Manuwa matchup.
An incredibly exciting Light Heavyweight title eliminator has been added to the already stellar UFC 214 card, as London powerhouse Jimi 'Posterboy' Manuwa meets recently born star Volkan Oezdemir. #3 ranked Manuwa is on a tear as of late in the 205lbs division, most recently viciously stopping Corey Anderson with one punch in their main event clash, after starching former Interim title challenger Ovince Saint Preux. Swiss striker Volkan Oezdemir just last weekend scored an impressive one punch KO against Misha Cirkunov after a promotion debut win against the aforementioned OSP, thus earning him a shot at the 'Posterboy'.

With a rematch between Daniel Cormier and the returning Jon Jones headlining the 214 card for the Light Heavyweight crown, the 205lbs roster seems to have really improved with top level competitors lying in wait to challenge whoever leaves Anaheim the title holder. Swede starlet Alexander Gustafsson also reasserted his dominance in Stockholm last weekend, displaying his phenomenal boxing prowess to score a triple uppercut followed by a right hook combination to stop the experienced Glover Teixeira in the final round of their main event contest. Veteran MMA legend Maurício 'Shogun' Rua has also witnessed a resurgence in his famed career, riding a three fight high with wins over Antônio Rogério Nogueira, Corey Anderson and Gian Villante, after two consecutive knockout losses set the former Brazilian champ back. A future proof plan for the divison would see either Manuwa or Oezdemir face Cormier or Jones, while Gustafsson lays in wait, particularly as he is admittedly reluctant to face close friend Jimi Manuwa once more.
