Yoel Romero and Robert Whittaker to compete for Interim Middleweight crown at UFC 213:

Big matchup added to UFC 213!
Top Middleweight challengers Yoel 'Soldier Of God' Romero and Robert Whittaker will co-headline UFC 213 for the Interim 185lbs championship. It was subsequently confirmed that the rematch between Amanda Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko will main event the exciting card, after Cody Garbrandt was ruled out of his Bantamweight crown bout with long time foe T.J. Dillashaw through injury. Cuban wrestler Romero is in many's eyes the best Middleweight on the planet, and it is incredibly difficult to argue that, with his recent demolition of former king Chris Weidman, and is of course unbeaten in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

After surprisingly stopping BJJ superstar Ronaldo 'Jacaré' Souza with a massive knockout, Kiwi striker Robert 'The Reaper' Whittaker has witnessed a meteoric rise in his stature ever since, and now finds himself one win away from UFC gold. His shocking head kick win over 'Jacaré' extends his undefeated rise to a whopping 7, but with the stern Romero awaiting him, the Cuba Olympian will most certainly provide one of the biggest challenges of his career.

After the recent falling out of Michael Bisping's matchup with Georges St-Pierre, it was told by Dana White that Bisping would defend against Yoel Romero, but then the Manchester native explained how a niggling knee injury would prevent a defence. This Interim Middleweight crown will add to the Featherweight Interim title which is set to be trashed out at UFC 212, but will most definitely establish the next Middleweight challenger.
