Entertaining first leg!
The first of four scheduled press conferences before the August meeting of Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor takes place in Los Angeles, California at the Staples Centre. Mayweather expected to be swarmed by his TMT entourage, is a huge favourite heading into the boxing bout, while this presser offers UFC Lightweight champion Conor McGregor, the first opportunity at his notorious 'mental warfare' aimed at  'Money' Mayweather. McGregor who made the trip to California from his Dublin base at SBG, was greeted by UFC President Dana White and it remains to be seen if White travels to the gathering between both combat athletes.

Kicking off at roughly 10:30 Irish time, 'The Notorious' Conor McGregor was first to the stage, played out by Sinead O' Connor's rendition of 'Foggy Dew' and 50 cent's 'I Get Money'. Undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather then made his walk to the front stage through the crowd, and an immediate size difference between the two was clear to see. Conor began taunting straight from the get go, with Mayweather seemingly unfazed. Legendary Announcer Jimmy Lennon Jr. took to the podium to thank the men behind the scenes for getting the fight together. Espinoza then informed the crowd of Mayweather's accolades and records established over his illustrious career. Dana White then took the podium to welcome his man McGregor, and barbs from the Dublin man immediately targeted opponent Mayweather, with Conor promising to stop Floyd inside four rounds. McGregor highlighted the movement, power and ferociousness that would prove unfirmilar for Mayweather, and then told how if this were a proper fight, it wouldn't last one round. McGregor then spoke of his child Conor Jr. telling how his presence has given him the perfect motivation for his future. Leonard Ellerbe then introduced his client Floyd Mayweather who then made his way to the podium, explaining how he didn't care if the fight took place in an octagon or a ring, with Conor pulling him up immediately. Floyd then pulled out a cheque for $100 million before McGregor proclaimed that the cheque was for the "tax man". Mayweather then told of his dominance over the period of his career, before offering McGregor 8oz or 4oz gloves. Mayweather then referred to Conor as 'Mr. Tapout' referring to his loss to Nate Diaz. McGregor then tried to respond before realising his microphone was switched off. Both men then squared off, with both fighters trading further barbs.
