Conor McGregor Pleads Guilty To April Assault, Fined €1,000

Former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion, 'The Notorious' Conor McGregor has pleaded guilty to assault, in relation to an April 6th. incident at the Marble Arch pub in Drimnagh, Dublin. McGregor, with an address at Lady Castle, Straffan, Co. Kildare was involved in an altercation with Desmond Keogh in April this year, where CCTV footage shows the Crumlin native punch the punter after a dispute over McGregor's, Proper Twelve whiskey.
Mr. Keogh elected against appearing at the Dublin District Court for proceedings which were adjourned by Judge Treasa Kelly until 2pm, and further accepted McGregor's apology and compensation, and did not wish to make a victim impact statement. Solicitor Michael Staines, representing McGregor, told the court how there was no need to view the close-circuit television footage but counsel for the State argued in favor of the footage being shown. After the footage had been shown, McGregor addressed the court. "I assure you nothing of this nature will happen again regarding me." The court also learned how McGregor, had a total of eighteen previous convictions including an assault in 2009. Judge Treasa Kelly issued a €1,000 fine to McGregor who has a month to pay.
McGregor, 31, recently returned from a tour across Russia and Ukraine, where he announced his intentions to return to mixed-martial-arts on January 18th. in the coming year. The Straight Blast Gym striker refused to name his opponent for the early 2020 matchup, with promotion President Dana White revealing how former WEC and UFC lightweight title challenge, Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone was targeted as an opponent.
'The Notorious' one further outlined him plans for the next calendar year, mapping a three fight plan which included a BMF title challenge against either Jorge Masvidal or Nate Diaz who headline UFC 244 tomorrow night, before a lightweight title siege against either former-foe Khabib Nurmagomedov or Tony Ferguson. The polarizing former two-division champion last featured in the Octagon in October 2018, where he lost to arch-rival Khabib Nurmagomedov via a fourth round neck crank submission.
