James Gallagher vs. Cal Ellenor Re-Booked For Bellator Dublin Headliner
James Gallagher is paired with arguably his sternest test to date. |
A bantamweight pairing between two of Bellator MMA's most promising 135-pound prospects has been rescheduled for the promotion's latest trip to Dublin on February 22nd. as surging contender James 'The Strabanimal' Gallagher meets with Sunderland submission specialist, Cal 'Pacino' Ellenor in the event's headliner.
The two grappling sensations were booked in the headlining slot of Bellator Dublin in September this year, with Ellenor unfortunately removed from the bout during fight week due to an abnormality in a brain scan, which was subsequently revealed to have been read wrong by a physician. Ellenor, who has since been medically cleared to compete, finished Nathan Greyson via first round rear-naked choke in his last outing was replaced by UFC alumni Roman Salazar who made his promotional bow, with Gallagher going on to score a thirty-five second guillotine as he rounded off the year with three victories.
Both men offer incredibly dangerous offensive grappling, notching an eye-catching thirteen submission victories combined. The brash Gallagher who is still just 23-years-old will headline his third Bellator event in just eighteen month, as himself and Ellenor hope to continue their inroads to bantamweight gold in 2020.
Bellator Dublin takes place on February 22nd. from the 3Arena, with fellow Straight Blast Gym trainee Philip Mulpeter returning from his exciting clash with Keith McCabe to take on Daniel Crawford. In lightweight action Ryan Roddy meets Chris Duncan, while at 205-pounds, Karl Moore clashes with Arunas Andriuskevicius.
