Originally targeted to land at a potential UFC Fight Night London event on August 14th. -- the middleweight main event between former welterweight title challenger, Darren Till and division mainstay, Derek Brunson is now in the works to land on September 4th. -- in another attempt from the promotion to return to the U.K.

Earlier this week, reports emerged that the potential August return to London was in jeopardy amid the U.K.'s current roadmap amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, with a potential stay at the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas, Nevada earmarked instead to host Till vs. Brunson.

However, per a report from ESPN MMA reporter, Brett Okamoto this evening, the organization are now preliminarily attempting to book the Liverpool native opposite Brunson on September 4th. instead of the initially circled August 14th. event -- as they look to postpone their return to London until that date.

Per Okamoto's report, UFC 266, which is scheduled to take place on September 4th. is now expected to land on a different date to accommodate the potential UFC Fight Night London event. The pay-per-view event is currently set to hold a light heavyweight title bout between champion, Jan Blachowicz, and challenger, Glover Teixeira.

A September showcase for Till would mark his first Octagon appearance since UFC Fight Island 3 in July of last year, where he suffered a close unanimous decision loss to former undisputed middleweight best, Robert Whittaker in an entertaining striking affair.

The former 170lbs title challenger was scheduled to tackle Jack Hermansson at UFC Vegas 16 in December of last year, until a knee injury suffered in his loss to Whittaker flared up ahead of the headlining bout.

Booked to meet with Trento native, Marvin Vettori at UFC on ABC 2 in April, Till's run of injuries continued as he suffered a broken collarbone ahead of the main event outing, forcing another sidelining.

#5 ranked middleweight contender, Brunson has won his last four consecutively and most recently managed to take home an impressive unanimous decision victory over Kevin Holland at UFC Vegas 22 in March, following another main event win last August opposite rising prospect, Edmen Shahbazyan.
