Conor McGregor Predicts A 'Flawless' Display Against Dustin Poirier At UFC 264

Ahead of his potential lightweight title-eliminator trilogy rubber match at UFC 264 on July 10th. -- former two-weight champion, Conor McGregor has predicted he will turn in a flawless performance against Dustin Poirier, as the pair sit one apiece following their two clashes under the promotion's banner. 

Headlining the July 10th. pay-per-view event from the sold-out, T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada -- where fans return to 'Sin City' in attendance for the first time since March of last year, McGregor attempts to avenge a January knockout loss to Lafayette favorite, Poirier. 

Returning for the first time since a forty-second knockout win over Donald Cerrone in January of last year, McGregor took main event status against former interim lightweight titleholder, Poirier on 'Fight Island' this January.

Suffering his first professional knockout loss in mixed martial arts, McGregor succumbed to a brutal second round barrage of strikes at the fence by Poirier, following a slew of damaging and debilitating calf kicks from the Louisianan. 

Immediately noting his interest in a trilogy fight with Poirier -- as the American Top Team trainee, Poirier expressed himself, McGregor claimed that a "beast" has been awoken in him ahead of his trilogy with Poirier, and how he expects a flawless display no matter how tactical Poirier is. 

"July 10th. I will do this absolutely flawlessly," McGregor tweeted. "We have these clowns sussed and fully! They wanna play a game of tactics? No problem, see you in there. You've awoken a beast. A beast with the backing of a much higher power. Say your prayers."


Whilst Straight Blast Gym mainstay, McGregor has given his prediction for the rubber match, Poirier has also provided some insight into how he sees the July 10th. showdown plays out -- predicting another stoppage win over the Dubliner.

"I'm gonna stop Conor (McGregor) again -- July 10th. I'm gonna get my hand raised, and I'm gonna finish Conor McGregor again," Poirier replied when asked how he thinks the trilogy bout will play out.
