A middleweight showdown between the #8 ranked contender, Uriah 'Primetime' Hall, and the #12 rated, Sean 'Tarzan' Strickland is currently in the works for UFC 265 on August 7th. -- with a location or venue for the pay-per-view event yet to be determined by the promotion.

Making his second Octagon appearance of the year, Hall returns for the first time since a UFC 261 TKO win over former middleweight champion, Chris Weidman -- who suffered a ghastly compound fracture just seventeen seconds into their April rematch.

For Strickland, the 30-year-old has won his last four consecutively -- most recently nabbing a unanimous decision victory over Krzysztof Jotko at UFC Vegas 25 on May 1st. News of the targeted pairing of the middleweight contenders was first reported by ESPN MMA reporter, Brett Okamoto

The win followed a unanimous decision victory over Antonio Carlos Junior, after another knockout triumph over Bevon Lewis. Hall's last defeat came in the form of a knockout loss to one-time title challenger, Paulo Costa back at UFC 226 in July of 2018.

Strickland's most recent loss also came in 2018, in the form of a spinning wheel kick knockout defeat to Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos in May at UFC 224. Before his win over Polish mainstay, Jotko, the North Carolina native managed a knockout success over Roufusport grappler, Brendan Allen, as well as a decision win over Jack Marshman, and a knockout victory against Nordine Taleb.

UFC 265 takes place on August 7th. -- with a bantamweight championship fight between two-weight gold holder, Amanda Nunes and Julianna Pena set to feature at the pay-per-view showcase.
