An eye-catching middleweight showdown between surging finisher, Dricus 'Stillknocks' Du Plessis, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu ace, Andre 'Sergipano' Muniz is slated to land at UFC 269 on December 11. from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Undefeated in his two-fight UFC run, South African finisher, Du Plessis managed a opening round knockout win over Trevin Giles at UFC 264 in July most recently.

For two-fight Dana White's Contender Series alum, Muniz, the submission ace became the first to submit former Strikeforce middleweight champion, Ronaldo Souza in professional mixed martial arts at UFC 262 -- stopping his compatriot with an opening round armbar. ESPN MMA reporter, Brett Okamoto was first to report the matchup of Du Plessis and Muniz.

A two-fight Octagon veteran, Du Plessis, a former EFC standout in his native South Africa, made his UFC bow back on 'Fight Island' in October -- stopping UFC alum, Markus Perez with an eye-catching first round knockout win.

In the midst of a four-fight professional run, the 27-year-old has dropped just two career losses against both renowned striker, Roberto Soldic, as well as UFC alum, Gareth McClellan.

Across the run of his 16-2 professional career, Du Plessis has bested the likes of the aforenoted, Soldic with a second round knockout, as well as Brendan Lesar, Yannick Bahati, Mauricio da Rocha Jr., Rafal Haratyk, and Dino Bagattin.

21-4 as a professional, 31-year-old Montes Claros native, Muniz added Souza to his UFC winning run, following a debut outing against Bartosz Fabinski -- where the Brazilian lodged another armbar win, as well as earning Performance of the Night honours.

From those 21-victories, Muniz has finished 14 opponents via submission, and has defeated former WEC middleweight champion, Paulo Filho.

UFC 269 takes place on December 11. from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada -- with a bantamweight title rescheduling between Amanda Nunes and Julianna Pena slated to take place at the pay-per-view event.
