Ex-UFC Welterweight Gold Holder Carlos Condit Retires From Professional MMA

Former interim UFC welterweight champion, 'The Natural Born Killer' Carlos Condit has retired from professional mixed martial arts with immediate effect, following a storied career spanning the course of 19-years.

Condit, 37, last featured professionally at UFC 264 in July, seeing his two-fight winning spree halted by Max Griffin in a unanimous decision defeat. The Albuquerque native had previously lodged a pair of unanimous decision successes of his own against both Court McGee and Matt Brown. 

Per a report from MMA Fighting reporters, Guilherme Cruz and Damon Martin, the New Mexico's manager, First Round Management leader, Malki Kawa confirmed Condit's decision to call time on his 46-fight professional career.

Bowing out with a 32-14 professional record, Condit is a veteran of the UFC, King Of The Cage, Pancrase, Rumble on the Rock, as well as the now-defunct, WEC, where he was the promotion's welterweight champion. 

From 32 professional victories, Condit has knocked out a staggering 15 opponents, submitting a further 13 more since his professional bow back in 2002. 

A 19-fight veteran of the UFC, Condit would score a 9-10 run with the Dana White-led promotion, earning five Fight of the Night honors as well as a further two Knockout of the Night bonuses. 

A former interim welterweight title under the organization's banner, Condit took home a unanimous decision victory over the soon-to-return, Nick Diaz back in February 2012 at UFC 143, before suffering a unanimous judging loss of his own to Georges St-Pierre that November. 

The veteran division staple has managed to score career successes against the likes of Frank Trigg, John Alessio, Brock Larson, Hiromitsu Miura, Jake Ellenberger, Rory MacDonald, Dan Hardy, Dong Hyun Kim, Nick Diaz, and Thiago Alves.
