Michael Bisping Reveals Darren Till Suffered ACL Tear Ahead Of UFC Vegas 36 Headliner

Former UFC middleweight champion, Michael Bisping has revealed that compatriot, one-time welterweight title challenger, Darren Till suffered a torn ACL just 10-weeks out from his UFC Vegas 36 headliner with Derek Brunson on Saturday night.
Dropping three takedowns in each round over the course of three frames, Team Kaobon native, Till was on the receiving end of some notable ground-and-pound in the first round from Brunson, who managed to rain down from half guard while postured with strikes.
In a disheartening performance from Till who failed to offer much to the 37-year-old Brunson in the main event loss, he suffered his consecutive defeat following a unanimous decision blemish against Robert Whittaker at UFC Fight Island 4 in July of last year.
"I went backstage to talk to Darren Till (after the fight), and he was frustrated. He tore his ACL 10-weeks ago," Bisping said. "Certainly with that kind of injury, that would've hampered his performance (at UFC Vegas 36). But you can't take anything away from Derek Brunson. He's (Till) going to stay in Las Vegas for the time being and train a little bit and work on his takedown defence. I think spending some time in the United States and getting some work in grappling, he can get sharp again."
Ahead of a UFC on ABC 2 headliner against recent middleweight title challenger, Marvin Vettori, Till suffered a broken collarbone and was forced to withdraw from the main event tilt.
Headlining the UFC Apex facility event in his first outing in 14-months, Till suffered his second consecutive loss, dropping an eventual third round rear-naked choke loss against the #7 ranked North Carolina native, Brunson.

Despite appearing to clip Brunson and then subsequently pressure in the third round, Till gave up full-mount in a scramble at the fence, before bellying down as Brunson locked his hands and secured a rear-naked choke victory -- notching his fifth consecutive victory.

Speaking with BT Sports reporters, Adam Catterall and Nick Peet following the event, Bisping explained how Till would remain in Las Vegas for some time after the bout in order to train his wrestling, as well as revealing that the Liverpool favorite had suffered an ACL tear just 10-weeks out from the event.

This latest injury woe for Till follows a series of debilitating setbacks which forced him from two outings since his July pairing with Whittaker.
The #7 ranked contender was booked to meet with Jack Hermansson last December, until a knee injury initially suffered in his headliner against Whittaker forced him from proceedings.
