Former-foes Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier once more traded barbs last night on Twitter, after former lightweight and featherweight best McGregor, joked about the date of an "Interim" BMF championship meeting between Jorge 'Gamebred' Masvidal and Nate Diaz. Both McGregor and Poirer have been on a collision-course over the last month or so, with American Top Team staple Poirier, eager to re-run their 2014 meeting at UFC 178.

McGregor, who is yet to feature in the Octagon since his fourth round loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov last October, is similarly gunning for a rematch with the undefeated Dagestan native, but must first return to the winner's enclosure himself. Both McGregor and Poirier have been linked to clash once again in early 2020, as both men attempt to remain perennial contenders while Nurmagomedov meets deserving challenger Tony Ferguson. On November 2nd. in Madison Square Garden in the headlining bout of UFC 244, welterweight strikers Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz clash for the 'Baddest Motherf**ker' championship, a title which Crumlin born McGregor poked fun at.

Former interim 155 pound champion Dustin Poirier, who failed to unify the titles against the aforementioned Nurmagomedov in Abu Dhabi recently, took to Twitter to remind 'The Notorious' one, the time that had pasted since his most recent championship triumph inside the Octagon. This reply from Poirier didn't go unnoticed with McGregor once more responding to the Lafayette boxer.
