Diaz has been forced from the BMF championship headliner with Masvidal.

UFC welterweight contender Nate Diaz has been forced from his UFC 244 headliner next weekend with Jorge 'Gamebred' Masvidal, after USADA notified the Stockon native that he had "tested with elevated levels" in a recent drug test. The Ultimate Fighter victor was scheduled to take main event status alongside the aforementioned Masvidal at the Madision Square Garden event on November 2nd. but has elected against competing and has withdrawn from the bout. According to reports, the promotion had lined up a replacement for either Masvidal or Diaz if either party failed to make the walk.

Diaz gave this statement on Thursday night, where he notified fans of the dissapointing news. "I'm not going to make it out to NYC for fight week next week because they say I tested with elevated levels that they say might be from tained supplements. I call false on that cause I only take Whole Food or natural food supplements. I don't even eat meat. So until UFC, USADA or whoever is F**KING with me fixes it, I won't be competing. I'm not gonna play their game and try and hide it or keep quiet, as they suggested. I'm not gonna have my name tained as a cheater like these motherf**kers who keep quiet until after the fight just so they can get paid. F**kin' cheaters. I don't give a f**k about some money over my dignity and my legacy. I'm not playing along with this bulls**t. I'm not staying quiet and figuring it out after the fight. That's cheating. So fight game I'll see you when I see you. Sincerly, the realest baddest motherf**ker in the game."

Diaz, who recently returned to the Octagon for the first time since 2016, picked up an impressive unanimous decision victory over former WEC and UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis. At this time, it is believed Jorge Masvidal will remain on the card, as he looks to build a head of steam toward a title challenge after two consecutive crushing knockouts of Darren Till and Ben Askren.
